Facebook Marketing

by Gail Ramberg on June 18, 2010

Facebook can be one of the most effective marketing strategies out there to get leads if you know what you’re doing.  The key is to stay focused.  I think we all know how easy it is to waste a whole afternoon and not remember what you did.  The key to success with Facebook is to stay focused on activities that will help you get leads.

Facebook is all about Attraction Marketing.  You cannot “sell” your business on Facebook, you will get your account locked up.  You can use it to promote yourself as a leader, create a presence and provide value to others.  Hopefully by now you realize that these items are the true key to becoming a successful in the network marketing industry.   If this concept is foreign to you, check out Get Leads – In Today’s World .

Like several other types of marketing, Facebook can blow up if you combine it with some of the other strategies.   Check out the Advanced Marketing post (coming soon).

Training Videos

Facebook Training Video – MLSP - 10/25/08
Not much sales-speak here, just content about how to use Facebook.   The video talks about the “whys” and “how to’s” for the following:

  • Friends
  • Groups
  • Start Your Own Group
  • Inviting Friends
  • Broadcast Emails
  • Wall Posts On Groups
  • Wall Posts On Friends Walls
  • Post Videos In Groups
  • Cross Pollinate With Other Groups

Facebook Training Video – Connecting    6/17/09
“It’s not about adding friends, it’s about connecting with people.”
This video has some great information in it about how to connect with people, leverage your profile, add 10 second videos, and how to add your opt-in form directly to Facebook, etc.

Strategy

Again… Facebook isn’t about “selling” your business to get leads.  It’s about building a relationship with people so they will be interested in hearing about your opportunities.

Friends
You need to start adding friends when you sign up, but don’t just click the “add friends” button.   See the “Connecting” section below.

Be careful that you don’t add friends too quickly and don’t use any kind of a tool to automatically add friends.  Either activity will get you banned.  Stick to adding 30-50 per day.

Where To Find Friends
Check out the MLM or network marketing groups.  You can also look for specific multilevel companies or the fan pages of the big-time marketers.

Status
Update your status everyday and include information about network marketing.  It’s important to keep your name in front of people frequently.

Groups
Starting your own group is essentially creating your new “list”.  You can basically send broadcast emails to this group like you would a normal auto-responder list of people.

Wall Posts
This is where the bulk of the work will be.  You want to make sure you’re adding value (like always) and making connections (see below) and not just selling your product.   Don’t ad the same post over and over.   Have several that you rotate.

Connecting
When you add friends or make posts, remember that you won’t get leads by “selling” on Facebook.  You will only get leads by providing value to others.
Always try to include something a little more personal:

  • Put their name in it
  • Comment on their profile
  • Agree with their biggest frustration
  • Comment on an interesting/valuable post
  • Mention a common interest

Leverage Other Groups
When your group reached several hundred members, contact the administrators of other groups to see if you can cross pollinate and provide additional value to both groups.

Things You Need To Know

It can’t be repeated often enough – Facebook isn’t for blatant “selling”.  Not only will you not get leads, but you will annoy the Facebook administrators.  The following activities will get you labeled as a SPAM’er and will get your account banned.

  • Don’t “sell”.
  • Don’t add friends too quickly.
  • Don’t do repetitive tasks.   Add some friends, make a few posts, etc and rotate other activities.

Facebook PPC

Many people in the network marketing world are talking about PPC on Facebook as ”the next big thing” that is ready to explode and get you a massive number of leads for a small relative cost.   It’s much, much more targeted than the other methods, it’s cheaper (for now) and unlike Google, Facebook loves people in the network marketing industry.

More information will be added later on this.  If you’re interested, add your name and email to the form on the right side and we’ll tell you when the site is updated.

This is the course used by most of the giants in the network marketing world who are having success on Facebook with PPC – Facebook Ad Power.
