Forum Marketing

by Gail Ramberg on June 18, 2010

Network marketing is about providing value to other people and forum marketing is a classic example of that.  The quick rundown is that you find places that have discussions around your MLM topic, get involved in the discussion and if you provide enough value to the other readers they will look at your links to see what else you’re doing.

Forum marketing is a free marketing strategy and it’s easy to get started.  However it can take quite a while to build up enough credibility to see results and get leads from it.

What You Need To Know

You will obviously be finding a lot of people who are already promoting something.  You will likely have more success if you offer something that educates them, while at the same time shows you as a professional marketer.

Forums are starting to limit what you can post.  Be sure to check their rules before posting.

Strategy

  • You can NOT SPAM THE FORUM!!!  Don’t blatantly pitch your business – it won’t help you get leads and will likely get you banned.
  • Focus on helping others and engage in good business networking.  Motivate, inspire and educate them.
  • If you don’t know very much about the topic, visit http://www.ezinearticles.com/ or http://www.hubpages.com/.  Use their search functions and find a few articles on the topic you want to discuss.  That is likely more research than 90% of the people on the forum have done so you can now share your (new) knowledge with them.
  • Your signature file is what will help you get leads.  You should include two links in your signature file:
    • A direct link to your own capture page.
    • A direct link to your primary MLM business.
  • The biggest key is to be consistent and become a part of the community.  That will let you add hundreds of posts on many different topics… all with your signature showing your links.

Finding Forums
You don’t have to limit yourself to just the typical “marketing” forums.  You can practice this type of marketing anywhere there is a discussion about whatever interests or hobbies you have.  If you will just need to make sure that your profile has a catchy signature file that will get you attention.

Example:
“The internet is a goldmine. Are you making money on the net yet?
(put your links here)”

Top Marketing Forums
These are some of the best marketing forums on the internet.  I would suggest joining these and adding some quality posts and ideas to the forum.  Make sure to include your signature file at the bottom of each post because this is how you will get leads.
